Burns Night Supper will be Richard's last

This year's Burns Night celebration on Saturday 25th Jan will be Richard's last event as landlord of the Potters Arms. The traditional supper held in honour of the Scottish bard, Rabbie Burns, will feature a piper, and a menu including Cullen Skink (smoked haddock soup), Haggis, Neeps and Tatties (haggis served with swede and mashed potato) and Cranachan (a dessert of raspberries and oats) (other choices are available) washed down by a wee dram of whisky. The dramatic Address to the Haggis is one of Burns' most famous and sees a ceremonial knife plunged deep into the large meaty pudding. Full details of the menu are here.

Richard has been holding Burns Night suppers at the Potters Arms for many years and they are always lively village occasions. As he heads for pastures new after 12 years and hands over to a new leaseholder from the start of February, let's spread some light on this darkest of winter months and celebrate one last time.

The Burns Night Supper is from 7.30pm on Saturday January 25th. Tickets are £32.50 and available from the Potters Arms. Booking essential.
