A Wonderful Evening at the Village Safari Supper

On Saturday 4th July, our village came together for a truly memorable Safari Supper, with 40 villagers enjoying an evening of food, friendship, and community spirit.
The event was made possible by the generosity of six host households, each opening their homes to welcome guests for the main course and a small team of canape and dessert makers.
The evening began with drinks and expertly made canapés at the Memorial Hall and then participants moved around the village in small groups, enjoying a different setting and different company – a wonderful way to meet neighbours old and new.
One of the highlights of the Safari Supper was the opportunity to spend time with people from all parts of the village and many guests commented on how much they enjoyed getting to know fellow villagers they had not met before.
A huge thank you goes to our six hosts for their hard work, hospitality, and careful planning, as well as to everyone who contributed food, helped with organisation, and took part with such enthusiasm.
The Safari Supper was a wonderful reminder of what makes village life so special: a strong sense of community, generosity, and the pleasure of sharing good food together. Judging by the many positive comments at the end of the evening, this is certainly an event we hope to repeat next year.
Thank you to all 40 villagers who joined us and helped make the evening such a success.
