Welcome to our July 2026 news
We had the most amazing week with IsingPop! Jess was absolutely fantastic and taught the children to sing and dance beautifully in just three days. It was incredible to see how quickly their confidence grew and how much enthusiasm they brought to every rehearsal. The concerts were absolutely brilliant and a real celebration of the children's hard work, talent and energy.
A huge thank you to Jess for her expertise, encouragement and boundless energy, and to all the families who came along to support the children. It is a week that we will remember for a long time and one that has left us all singing the songs long after the final performance!
Residential Trip to Paccar
Our eldest pupils had wonderful residential trip at Paccar where they used their Curzon value of courage to try new activities including laser tag, 3G swing and a giant zip wire.
Toilet twinning sale
As part of the Archbishop of York Young Leaders Award, our oldest pupils have been working hard on a project to raise money for Toilet Twinning by making crafts and learning how to share these skills with others. Toilet Twinning is a charity initiative that helps families in poorer communities build safe, basic toilets, gain access to clean water and learn about good hygiene practices, improving their health and quality of life.
Our pupils have planned and organised the project themselves, deciding which items to make and sell, as well as choosing games and activities to help raise funds. They have worked within a budget and written letters to parents to promote their project. Throughout the process, they have explored the concepts of justice and injustice, while putting our Curzon vision into action by helping others and making a positive difference in the wider world.

KS2 Fun Run
Our KS2 Fun Run around Penn Woods was a real highlight. The children showed fantastic determination, resilience and team spirit as they completed the course, cheering one another on every step of the way. It was especially pleasing to see such a strong sense of community, with pupils encouraging their peers and celebrating each other's achievements. Thank you to all parents who helped with this event and gave generously to our chosen charity: Men Who Talk.
On Monday we held a science day. Science Oxford visited and led a series of investigations and workshops. We also had some parents and volunteers who came to speak to some of the classes about their jobs in STEM. Thank you to our visitors for taking time to talk to the children.
Classes then joined together to carry out a science investigation linked to the word ‘curiosity’.
Two classes worked in small groups to discover if all fingerprints are the same and what they look like. They used a range of materials to see which one would create a clear fingerprint on a piece of paper and then used a magnifier to study them in greater depth. To end the activity, the children worked together to create collaborative fingerprint art.
Trip to Woodrow
We had an exciting extended day trip to Woodrow, where pupils enjoyed a range of outdoor learning experiences including archery and crate stacking. From team building activities to exploring the natural environment, the children represented the school brilliantly. They demonstrated independence, curiosity and excellent team work throughout the visit, and it was clear they gained a great deal from the experience.
