It is with much sadness that we have to report the sudden and unexpected death of Heather Walton. Although Heather only moved to the Village in 2020, she became a very familiar figure walking her impeccably trained labradors. She was always happy to share her considerable experience with dogs, and particularly working dogs, with other enthusiasts. Her many friends in the Village became used to seeing her going off in her Land Rover, always full of dogs, to training events and working tests all over the UK.
Heather was a retired theatre sister, having run operating theatres for some very well known consultant surgeons, in several London teaching hospitals. Subsequently, after her marriage, she ran her late husband's substantial practise as an ITU consultant. Heather moved to the Village after she was widowed, and became a familiar face helping with the Village Show, the Wine Club and with many events at the Memorial Hall. She was a superb cook, developed a beautiful garden, and remodelled her house to her excellent taste. Heather found the time to travel widely, working trips all over the World around her other activities. She even acquired a classic MG sports car “because it is easier to park at Waitrose”!! She also stole the heart of one Villager!

Heather will be greatly missed.
