Coleshill Church of England Infant School
Over the last term, the children have enjoyed several events, including sports festivals, the May Fayre and Holi and Bollywood dance workshop. The children have enjoyed several sporting events at Holmer Green senior school as part of our sports partnership festivals with other schools. They have attended some fantastic sessions, including dance festivals, athletics, football and multi-sports themed events.
May Fayre – a huge thank you!
I wanted to take this opportunity to say a HUGE thank you to Sam Hobcroft, Jessie Keighley and the P&F team who worked tirelessly to organise a fantastic May Fayre this year. Thank you also to all of our parents and staff members who kindly helped to run stalls, made cakes and donated toys and goods, not to mention the set up and clean up. We are always touched by the amount of effort and commitment that goes into our fundraising events and are very grateful. We all had a lovely time in the gorgeous weather and welcomed many visitors, villagers and current and former pupils. We will announce final totals and profits as soon as we can.
Our year 2 children will all soon be completing their final term here at Coleshill School, after three very special years together. We want to give them a lovely send off before they head to their new schools in September for the start of year 3. We wish them all well as they transfer to their new schools, but also hope that they won’t forget us and will pop back to let us know how they are doing!
We look forward to performing our Summer play “Croak” in July and enjoying all of the brilliant upcoming events including Sports Day, Drumming workshop and Country Dancing before the close of the academic year.

Curzon School
Curzon’s school vision is that everyone grows like the mustard seed into a large tree that can support others. We continue to develop and flourish in many ways. Welcome to our latest 2025 news.
Celebrating Reading
Our KS1 classes have enjoyed visiting their local library and learning how the books are classified.
World Book Day was a huge success with children choosing to share a range of books. Children and staff thoroughly enjoyed wearing their pyjamas/costumes to school for the day! Our Year 6 pupils rose to the challenge of becoming mini-teachers and read their favourite picture books to younger pupils.
Our Reading Ambassadors and School Councillors led a sponsored Readathon and raised over £800 for Read for Good, a charity that provides books and story tellers for children in hospital.
We also held reading workshops where parents read with their children.

Musical Opportunities
Some of our pupils took part in an uplifting and emotional concert at Kings Church Amersham with other local schools where they performed a range of songs from well-known musicals.

The whole school learnt and performed Here Comes the Sun in language to raise awareness and funds for our local Hearing Dogs charity. This was a wonderful community event with the hall packed full of parents and family members. The children gave a fantastic performance and raised lots of money. We have invited one of the hearing dogs to meet the children later this year so they can learn more about the vital work this charity does.
Hindu Day
We welcomed Sushma as part of RE learning about Hinduism. Sushma brought Indian artefacts and musical instruments to show, and the children listened to a variety of stories and music. Some of the music was quite rhythmic and they joined in enthusiastically with instruments, moving and dancing around the hall. A highlight for many was the food tasting activity and using our Curzon courage, many new foods were tried. Thank you to Sushma for bringing her knowledge and enthusiasm to Curzon and to the PTA for funding this workshop to enhance our RE curriculum.

Curzon is celebrating its 175th birthday this year! Although the original buildings are no longer here, there has been a school on this site since 1874.
We will be celebrating this with:
A party for the children in school on Tuesday 15th July (more details to follow)
A 175-year themed Summer Fair on Saturday 28th June
A special tea party for ex pupils and staff at Penn House. If you attended Curzon and left us before 2006, or know someone who did, we would love to hear from you. Please do contact the office. office@czn.odbst.org
