Peter Viney

Peter Viney of Yew Tree Cottage, Whielden Lane  sadly passed away on the 28th July, less than one month after his dear wife June.

Peter and June had been Winchmore Hill residents for over 20 years after moving from Chesham and very much loved the village and especially their cherished garden with its bird and animal life.

Peter, 83, had a varied career over many years spanning from careers advice, teaching, Police Officer, a videographer for VW/Audi, even interviewing Princess Anne, amongst others, and he worked at the Brain Injury Clinic at Stoke Mandeville for 10 years.

Peter was a keen historian, with articles and videos provided to Chesham and Amersham Museums, for example. He was also an accomplished videographer for work and in his personal life, putting together many videos of life accounts for friends and colleagues.

Peter was also a keen dog lover and an accomplished horse rider in his spare time.

However Peter struggled in the past 2-3 years after June was admitted to a care home and after breaking his hip in a fall at home finally succumbed to a related infection and died peacefully in his sleep in hospital.

June and Peter’s funeral will be held at the Milton Chapel, Amersham Crematorium at 15.30 on the 28th August. All welcome.
