Winchmore Hill Runners have stayed active over the winter and are now reaping the rewards of the warmer, lighter and drier evenings. Setting off at 6pm most Mondays we have been exploring the amazing trails that we have on our doorstep. Every now and then we spice things up with some intervals which I really enjoy as it allows everyone to work at their own pace and push as much or as little as they want but we all get to stay together.
We will be starting a Couch 2 5k group on 23rd June at 7pm that will run for 8 weeks. If you are interested in joining this or our regular 6pm group please send me an email.

And from a new group member...
Having started running with Couch 2 5k last June, I realised I'd found 'my thing'. The icing on the cake was seeing a post on the WHRA Facebook page about Jamie starting a running club earlier this year. I joined, after someone else recommended it too. It's a great idea and has brought some like-minded people together. I'm a bit older, quite a bit actually and slower than most of the group but it doesn't matter at all. The group is friendly and accommodating.
It's refreshing to share the countryside and the love of running in it with others. Jamie comes up with some nice routes and breaks it up with hills and interval training from time to time. Everyone enjoys the challenges - there's no pressure though and I suspect if anyone else had an idea for something different Jamie would be quite happy to follow their lead.
We keep updated on the WhatsApp group chat and share our achievements too, and it's good to know people are interested.
The group is quite small at the moment and more runners at different levels would be fun, and a fantastic way to get to know more people in the village. What a fabulous way to unwind at 6 on a Monday evening.
